This painting is one of several that I have painted of a
33 ft tall hallow metal cross called Crux Gloria,
designed and sculpted by Virginia artist Tomas
Fernandez.

Crux Gloria, a cross of Iight, was commissioned by
Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville,
VA. This crucifix spoke to my heart when I first saw it
in 1996, and  I've been painting it ever since. For me,
the figure carved out of the metal represents Christ
crucified, risen, and present. To learn more about
