Each camper gets to invite one special adult to make art with him/her for one day of camp for free! Our special group project will be a 3D painting collage for a local nursing home. Some other works that you create will also be framed so that you can hang them up as soon as you get home...unless you have someone else you'd like to give them to! One-Day Watercolor Workshops These newly-designed themed workshops are perfect for the complete beginner, as well as the intermediate-level artist seeking a better grasp of the fundamentals. Each workshop is divided into two parts, and artists may now register for both, or just the second part! The first 90 minutes provide a gentle yet informative hands-on introduction to painting in watercolor, with important tips on how to choose (and care for) quality supplies that will help you achieve beautiful results. Then, after a 30 minute break for lunch, we look at various ways our theme might be painted, and then jump right into following step-by-step demos to complete little studies that require little to no drawing skills on different painting surfaces which vary monthly. Color mixing recipes, brush handling techniques as well as practical solutions to common watercolor problems will be covered. Bring your own supplies, or rent everything you need for use during the workshop. Supply fee provides an assortment of several specialty papers that are not available locally.
